Raducanu and Alcaraz Spark Romance Rumors Amidst Doubles Partnership
Tennis stars Emma Raducanu and Carlos Alcaraz have ignited speculation about their relationship, stirring chatter beyond the court. The pair is set to play doubles at the upcoming US Open, but their interactions have fueled rumors of a potential romance.
Friendship or Romance?
The gossip mill started churning when Raducanu was seen cheering on Alcaraz at the Queen’s Club Championships earlier this month. Their laughter, jokes, and close proximity at the venue fueled whispers of a deeper connection. This week, they collaborated on an event with Evian, the official water supplier of Wimbledon.
When asked about strategies for the US Open during the Evian event, Raducanu said: No, it was fun yesterday. We were both on court with Evian.
She also stated, Yeah, we were just getting some volley practicing ahead of New York. Yeah, I’m really happy obviously to be playing with him. Yeah, we had a good time yesterday.

When pressed about romance rumors later, Raducanu smiled, stating, We’re just good friends.
The interviewer then ended any further inquiries, prompting Raducanu to remark with a laugh: Way to wrap up!
The two US Open champions are longtime friends, having grown up together on the tour.
A Blossoming Bond
Raducanu described Alcaraz as, so nice, very happy, amazing values and just a really positive light to be around.
She added that they first connected at Wimbledon in 2021. Their relationship has clearly blossomed over the years.
In the world of tennis, player friendships are common, often formed through shared experiences and competitive environments. According to the International Tennis Federation, about 80% of professional tennis players have close friendships with other players on tour (ITF 2023).
On and Off Court
Alcaraz, also 22, told Mail Sport at Queen’s that Raducanu made him wait before agreeing to partner with him. “Gotta keep them on their toes!” Raducanu joked. I had to ask my team if they thought I should play, but when he asked me, I was going to say yes, I just had to go through the formality of asking my coach.

While the nature of their relationship remains uncertain, fans eagerly anticipate their performance at the US Open. Whether it’s friendship or something more, their collaboration on the court is sure to be a highlight.
