Diddy Sentenced: 50 Months for Prostitution Charges

Diddy Sentenced to 50 Months in Prison in ‍Federal Prostitution Case

new York, NY – Sean “Diddy” Combs ‌was sentenced to 50 months in federal prison⁣ on Friday, October 3, ⁢after being convicted in ⁤July of violating the Mann ⁣Act. The Mann Act prohibits the interstate transportation of individuals for prostitution.

The sentencing, handed down by Judge‍ Arun Subramanian‍ in Manhattan federal court, concludes a high-profile case alleging Diddy coerced women into participating in drug-fueled encounters. While facing a maximum sentence of 20 years, the 50-month term falls between the prosecution’s ⁤initial suggestion of 51-63 months, and a later request for 135 months, ⁤and significantly exceeds the 14-month sentence sought by Diddy’s legal team.‍ They had argued ‍for leniency, ‌citing a year already served since his arrest last September.

Judge Subramanian also imposed a $500,000 fine, including costs related to imprisonment, a $5,000 statutory⁤ fine, and a $200 special assessment. The judge ruled that acquitted conduct, ‌including allegations of assault against Cassie Ventura ⁤and other violent acts, ‍could be considered during ‌sentencing.

The case ⁤centered on accusations that Diddy used fear, force, and coercion to compel‍ women to engage in prostitution across state ‌lines. Though acquitted of more serious charges of sex trafficking⁤ and⁤ racketeering conspiracy, the jury found‍ him guilty of the⁤ Mann Act violations.‍

Prior ‌to the sentencing, ⁤the court reviewed character letters‌ from both sides, including‌ supportive statements ⁣from‌ yung Miami and a detailed account of trauma from Cassie Ventura. Diddy’s motion for a new trial was denied earlier this week.
