Delhi Police’s Viral Punjabi Reply to Heartwarming Gesture

A laser display illuminating the night sky with the words “Thank You Delhi Police” followed Punjabi singer Karan Aujla’s recent concert in Delhi, prompting a playful response from the law enforcement agency. The gesture, intended as appreciation for security arrangements during the event, quickly went viral on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram.

Delhi Police responded to Aujla’s tribute with a message in Punjabi, stating, “Aujlee iss gesture te assi mar jaan…” – a phrase conveying deep appreciation and playful affection. The police added, “Appreciate the love, @karanaujla. Tusi stage sambhali, asi shehar,” which translates to “You handle the stage, we handle the city.”

The display of gratitude from both the artist and the police force mirrors a recent trend of positive interactions between Punjabi artists and law enforcement in the region. Diljit Dosanjh, another prominent Punjabi singer, similarly publicly thanked Delhi Police for their support during his “Dil-luminati” concert, acknowledging the Commissioner of Police, the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, and the Deputy Commissioner of Police South for their “incredible support.”

This exchange follows a separate, widely circulated incident involving Punjab Police and a bride on her way to a pre-wedding ceremony. In that case, officers waived a traffic challan after the bride offered them laddoos, a traditional Indian sweet. The incident, captured in a viral video, showcased a lighthearted interaction between law enforcement and a member of the public.
