New Delhi – Indian anti-terror agencies are leading the investigation into a car explosion near the Red Fort in Delhi on Monday, an incident that left at least eight people dead. The blast occurred in a busy market and tourist area of the cityS old quarters.Hours before the explosion, Indian police announced the arrest of a gang and the seizure of explosive materials and assault rifles. Authorities have linked the arrested men to Jaish-e-Mohammed, a Pakistan-based Islamist group, and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind, a Kashmir offshoot of Al-Qaeda – both designated terrorist organizations in India.
Home Minister Amit Shah stated he had directed officials “to hunt down each and every culprit behind this incident,” adding, “Everyone involved in this act will face the full wrath of our agencies.” Defense Minister Rajnath Singh confirmed a swift, thorough investigation is underway, with findings expected to be released soon.
The blast site remains sealed, with forensic experts continuing their work. The Red Fort Metro station was closed for security reasons. relatives of the victims are gathering at Lok Nayak hospital to identify the deceased. one relative, who wished to remain anonymous, saeid, “We at least know that my cousin is here, whether he is injured or not or the extent of his injury, we don’t know anything.”
