Global Content Alliance Targets 3 Billion Viewers
Beacon Media and MovieVerse Studios Forge Partnership to Amplify Global South Narratives
Beacon Media, co-founded by wellness advocate Deepak Chopra, has united with MovieVerse Studios, the mainstream division of India’s IN10 Media Network, in a significant pact. The collaboration aims to broadcast content from the Global South to a vast international audience, potentially reaching over three billion individuals across Hollywood, India, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America.
Strategic Content Expansion
This alliance is strategically positioned to capitalize on the escalating global demand for diverse international storytelling. Plans are underway for a wide spectrum of content, from traditional feature films to short-form series tailored for platforms like TikTok.
“Culturally rooted narratives reach the global stage,” stated Vivek Krishnani, CEO of MovieVerse Studios, highlighting the partnership’s mission.
Manoj Narender Madnani, chair of Beacon Media, framed the collaboration as indicative of an industry paradigm shift.
“Collaboration, not competition, is the key to success,”he remarked.
Digital-First Content Focus
Both companies are heavily investing in digital-first productions, developing material specifically for platforms such as Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts. This initiative runs parallel to their efforts in creating premium series and feature films. Early projects include a Malayalam-language film designed for worldwide appeal and adaptations of bestselling fiction by Deepak Chopra.
The venture is further strengthened by the appointment of author-screenwriter Manini Priyan as head of content for Beacon Media. Additionally, Beacon Media maintains a production alliance with Fadi Ismail, former drama director at MBC Group, who is producing Arabic content for digital distribution.
Economic Ties Fueling Collaboration
This partnership benefits from the strengthening economic links between India and Gulf states, with Saudi Arabia and the UAE being prominent investors in India’s entertainment and technology sectors. Aditya Pittie, managing director of IN10 Media, emphasized the collaboration’s role in “foster[ing] a diverse and inclusive content ecosystem that resonates with global audiences.”
The burgeoning digital content market saw global online video advertising revenue reach an estimated $338 billion in 2023, underscoring the potential reach of this new alliance (Statista 2023).
Distribution and Network Strength
Beacon Media utilizes Lounges.tv for distribution, a platform backed by notable investors including Simon Cowell. IN10 Media’s extensive portfolio includes television channels such as Epic, ShowBox, and Filamchi Bhojpuri, alongside the streaming platform DocuBay and production house Juggernaut Productions.
