An Airbus plane had to land unscheduled at Graz Airport (A) on Saturday because a passenger had locked himself in the toilet.

Because he refused to leave the on-board toilet, the plane had to make a stopover in Graz.
The man then traveled on to Zurich by train.
The border police at Graz Airport was informed at about 1:15 p.m. that the aircraft was landing on the Larnaca (Cyprus) route to Zurich. The reason for the landing was a 51-year-old Russian who had locked himself in the on-board toilet for the entire duration of the flight.
Police controlled the passenger
At the request of the captain of the aircraft, the passenger was escorted from board and then checked at the police station. In the meantime, the crew of the aircraft checked the toilet for tampering or damage. However, the employees could not determine either.
The passenger behaved cooperatively with the police officers and voluntarily showed them all of his luggage. No dangerous items could be found. When questioned, he did not provide any information about the reasons for his behavior. The flight towards Zurich was continued, the 51-year-old traveled on by train.
