Croatia to Host 2026 Beach Handball World Championships

Zagreb, Croatia – June 23, 2025

– The International Handball Federation (IHF) Council has awarded the croatian Handball Federation the rights to host the 2026 IHF Men’s and Women’s Beach Handball World Championships. The competition will take place in the Croatian capital, zagreb, bringing together the world’s elite beach handball teams [[1]].

A First for Croatia, a Sixth for Europe

This marks the first time Croatia will serve as the host nation for the IHF Beach Handball World Championships. It will be the sixth time the event has been held in Europe, following previous championships in Spain (2008), Türkiye (2010), Hungary (2016), Russia (2018), and greece (2022)
