China southern Airlines Connects Guangzhou and Riyadh with New Direct Flight
Guangzhou, China – China southern Airlines officially launched a direct flight service between Guangzhou and Riyadh on September 2nd, establishing a crucial air link between the dynamic Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Saudi Arabia’s capital city.
Flight CZ375 marked the inaugural journey, departing Guangzhou with 263 passengers aboard an Airbus A330 aircraft. The airline will operate the route three times weekly, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Travel time is approximately nine and a half hours outbound and eight and a half hours for the return flight.
China Southern anticipates this new service will significantly enhance economic and cultural exchange, fostering growth in trade, investment, education, and tourism between the two regions. The timing of the launch is particularly strategic, coinciding with saudi Arabia’s recent initiatives to streamline travel for chinese visitors, including exploring visa-free entry options.
This new Guangzhou-Riyadh route expands China Southern’s Middle Eastern network, joining existing services to Dubai, Doha, and Istanbul. During the peak summer travel season, the airline will operate a total of 27 round-trip flights per week connecting Guangzhou with destinations across the Middle East.
The addition of this route underscores China Southern’s commitment to expanding its international reach and facilitating greater connectivity between China and key global markets.
