A 28-year-old Carabinieri commander, Laura Grillo, has been found deceased in her barracks. Originally from Gravina di Puglia, her death has sent shockwaves through her colleagues, family, and the wider community.

Reports indicate that Commander Grillo may have died by suicide using her service weapon within her living quarters at the barracks. Her body was discovered by colleagues,prompting an immediate examination. According to Il Messaggero, an autopsy is being conducted to ascertain the exact cause of death.
In response to the tragedy, the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry, Francesco Lollobrigida, extended his condolences, expressing solidarity with Grillo’s family, colleagues, and the entire Carabinieri corps during this difficult time.
“Laura was a highly valued young carabiniere, recognized for her professionalism, sense of duty, and daily commitment to protecting the territory and upholding the law,” stated Vincenzo Incampo, national secretary of the New Carabinieri Union. “Her death is a profound loss for the entire Carabinieri community.”
Inampo further emphasized:
