Langford, BC – Canada’s Women’s Rugby Team will return to international competition this April, facing Australia, New Zealand, and the USA in the Pacific Four Series. This marks the team’s first action since their silver medal performance at the 2025 Rugby World Cup.

The tournament, hosted by USA Rugby, will be held across three American cities: Sacramento, California; Kansas City, Missouri; and Chicago, Illinois. Canada will open the series against Australia at Heart Health Park in Sacramento on April 11 at 7:00 p.m. PT / 10:00 p.m. ET. They will then face New Zealand at CPKC Stadium in Kansas City on April 17 at 3:15 p.m. PT / 6:15 p.m. ET, followed by a match against the USA at SeatGeek Stadium in Chicago on April 24 at 5:30 p.m. PT / 8:30 p.m. ET.

Head Coach Kevin Rouet acknowledged the short preparation window, stating, “We are highly excited and eager to get back together. It’s going to be a short window to prepare before the first game and many of us haven’t seen each other since the world cup in September, but most players have continued playing at a high level with our sevens team, at home in Canada or in Europe.”

Rouet emphasized the opportunity for player development, noting, “It’s the start of a new cycle which means there is an opportunity for new players to showcase themselves as we start to build once again towards the Olympics in 2028 and of course the Rugby World Cup in 2029, following our ‘One Squad’ philosophy.”

Canada’s roster for the 2026 Pacific Four Series is scheduled to be announced in late March. Broadcast details have not yet been released.

The upcoming series follows a successful 2025 for Canadian rugby, which included the Women’s Rugby World Cup silver medal, qualification for the 2027 Men’s Rugby World Cup, and Sophie de Goede being named World Rugby Women’s Player of the Year. Rugby Canada is currently seeking donations to support its national teams and development programs, with a focus on strengthening the pipeline of future Canadian rugby players.

Tickets for the Pacific Four Series will go on pre-sale on February 17, with general sale tickets available from February 19.
