Auckland Motorway Crash: Hospitalisations & Major Delays
A multi-vehicle collision on Auckland’s Southwestern Motorway has left four people injured, prompting traffic disruptions and warnings for motorists. Emergency services responded to the incident earlier today, with St John Ambulance personnel assessing and treating those involved at the scene.
According to St John, two patients were transported to Auckland City Hospital: one is in serious condition, and the other in moderate condition. The nature of their injuries has not been disclosed.
Authorities are advising drivers to avoid the motorway heading north, or to postpone travel plans if possible, as lanes remain blocked while the scene is cleared and investigations are underway. The disruption is expected to continue for some time, impacting peak-hour traffic.
A separate incident on Auckland’s Western Motorway earlier today involved a two-car crash, also resulting in one person being seriously injured. Emergency services attended that scene as well, and the injured individual was also transported to Auckland City Hospital. Details surrounding the cause of that crash are still emerging.
In a separate event, an e-scooter rider was hospitalised following a crash. Details regarding the location and circumstances of this incident have not been released.
