Angela Ding, currently the Communications Director for the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA), has been named Assistant Captain for the 2026 U.S. Team competing in the PING Junior Solheim Cup. The announcement was made by PING and the AJGA, with Ding slated to support captain Morgan Pressel.

The PING Junior Solheim Cup, modeled after the professional Solheim Cup, pits the top 12 female junior golfers aged 12-18 from the United States against their European counterparts. The biennial competition features match-play formats including foursomes, four-ball, and singles matches over two days. The 2026 event will be held September 7-8 at Bernardus Golf in Cromvoirt, Netherlands, immediately preceding the Solheim Cup.

Ding’s appointment marks a return to the event for a golfer with significant junior experience. She competed in four AJGA events and represented the United States at both the 2016 Euro Junior Cup and the 2016 Girls’ Junior America’s Cup. She continued her golf career at Lehigh University, earning Second Team All-Patriot League honors as a sophomore.

Prior to her role as Communications Director, Ding served as a Communications Coordinator with the AJGA, beginning in 2022. She has since been the media official for over 35 AJGA events, utilizing the organization’s social media platforms to amplify coverage. In 2025, she served as Assistant Captain for Team West at the Wyndham Cup, gaining experience in a leadership role within junior golf competition. Her recent work included content creation at the Hilton Grand Vacations ANNIKA Invitational, the Augusta National Women’s Amateur, and The Nelly Invitational presented by Chevron, where she interviewed LPGA star Nelly Korda.

The PING Junior Solheim Cup aims to provide young golfers with international match play experience and an opportunity to learn from professional players competing in the Solheim Cup. The United States currently holds an 8-4-1 advantage in the overall series, with Europe winning the most recent competition in 2023 at La Zagaleta, Spain.

Ding announced her appointment on LinkedIn, expressing excitement for the challenges ahead in 2026, following a year of professional growth and milestones. She highlighted her promotion to Director of Communications and the growth of the AJGA’s social media presence, with Instagram followers reaching nearly 150,000 and a total social audience exceeding 280,000 across all platforms.
