Alice + Olivia’s 2026 Fashion Forecast: Unapologetic Glamour & Going-Out Tops

New York Fashion Week concluded Saturday with a decisive turn towards “unapologetic glamour,” according to Stacey Bendet, founder and creative force behind Alice + Olivia. Bendet shared her vision following the presentation of the brand’s Fall/Winter 2026 collection, signaling a significant shift away from the minimalist aesthetic that has dominated recent seasons.

“This year is the return of unapologetic glamour. We’re moving away from minimalism and back into statement dressing,” Bendet stated. “I’ve always believed glamour isn’t frivolous, it’s power.” The collection, presented at New York Fashion Week, aims to redefine femininity through bold silhouettes and embellishments, exemplified by the pairing of a black corset with gold baroque embroidery and tailored trousers.

Bendet highlighted a key trend emerging for 2026: “the party on top.” This styling approach focuses on eye-catching, decorative tops juxtaposed with more grounded bottoms, such as trousers. The revival of the early-2000s “going-out top” is also anticipated to be a major influence, though Bendet suggests a modern interpretation. “The modern way to wear it is with contrast… a crystal corset or lace bustier with relaxed denim or tailored trousers. It keeps the look effortless and cool rather than nostalgic,” she explained.

Alice + Olivia’s Spring 2026 collection, showcased earlier this year, also emphasized a celebration of American women, timed to coincide with the approaching 250th anniversary of the United States. The presentation, held at Surrogate’s Court, featured 45 looks blending bold minimalism with playful elegance, drawing a celebrity-filled audience including Ashlee Simpson, Nicky Hilton, and Renée Elise Goldsberry.

Beyond specific garments, Bendet identified statement jackets and beautifully tailored trousers as essential “work-to-weekend hero pieces” for the coming year, emphasizing their versatility and ability to elevate any ensemble. The brand’s presentation at New York Fashion Week drew a star-studded crowd, underscoring its influence within both Hollywood and the fashion industry.
