University of Idaho to Host Annual Africa Night Party This saturday
Moscow, ID – The University of idaho’s African Students Association (ASA) will present its annual africa Night this Saturday, October 4, from 5-7 p.m. in the International Ballroom of the Pitman Center, offering a vibrant showcase of African culture to the campus and wider Moscow community.
Africa Night provides a crucial platform for celebrating the diversity and richness of African traditions, fostering understanding and connection within the university and local area. The event, planned for a year beginning with venue reservation, aims to immerse attendees in a dynamic experience of music, food, and performance.This year’s theme, “Wazobia,” embodies the spirit of unity and interconnectedness, translating to ”I am because we are.”
The evening will feature a variety of cultural expressions, including authentic African cuisine, captivating dance performances, and powerful poetry recitals. Attendees can also participate in traditional games and enjoy an open dance floor.
“We are giving you a state of the African culture within just two hours,” ASA member Kwasi Asare Agyemang wrote in an email. “and it’s just going to be amazing.”
Tickets are available for $15 for UI students and $20 for general admission.
