New Music Friday: Rock Hall Nominees, Women in Music Honorees & New Releases

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame announced its nominees for the class of 2026 on Monday, with a diverse group of artists spanning multiple genres and generations vying for induction. Among those nominated are Phil Collins, Mariah Carey, Lauryn Hill, Oasis, and Shakira, according to announcements from The Guardian, The Hollywood Reporter, and NPR.

The performer nominees also include The Black Crowes, Jeff Buckley, Melissa Etheridge, Billy Idol, INXS, Iron Maiden, Joy Division/New Order, New Edition, P!NK, Sade, Luther Vandross, and Wu-Tang Clan. The inductees will be revealed in April, with the induction ceremony slated to take place in the fall.

In other music news, Mariah Carey is also being honored at the Billboard Women in Music event on April 29 at the Hollywood Palladium. She will receive the Icon Award, recognizing her significant contributions to the music industry. Other honorees include Ella Langley (Powerhouse Award), Kehlani (Impact Award), Laufey (Innovator Award), Mariah the Scientist (Rising Star Award), Tate McRae (Hitmaker Award), Teyana Taylor (Visionary Award), and Zara Larsson (Breakthrough Award). The event will be hosted by Keke Palmer.

BLACKPINK recently achieved a milestone as the first musical act to surpass 100 million subscribers on YouTube, earning a custom Red Diamond Creator Award from the platform.

CMA Fest, scheduled for June 4-7 in Downtown Nashville, has revealed a portion of its Nissan Stadium lineup. Performers include Bailey Zimmerman, Blake Shelton, Carly Pearce, Cody Johnson, HARDY, Jason Aldean, Keith Urban, Luke Bryan, Tim McGraw, and Zach Top. Additional performers for Nissan Stadium and other stages will be announced in the coming weeks.

The 61st Academy of Country Music Awards will be held on May 17 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and streamed live on Prime Video. ACM Awards week events include “ACM Lifting Lives Country on the Green: Riley Green & Friends” at Topgolf Las Vegas on May 15 and “ACM Next Wave: Country’s Beach Bash” on May 16. Tickets for both the awards show and related events are currently available.

A new listening lounge and dining destination, Vinyl Room, has opened at the Hollywood Palladium. Inspired by Japanese hi-fi lounges, the space features a curated vinyl collection and a Japanese-inspired menu.

New music releases this week include tracks from Bruno Mars (“The Romantic”), BLACKPINK (“DEADLINE”), Anderson .Paak featuring aespa (“Keychain”), Laufey (“How I Get”), and Ziggy Marley (“Racism Is A Killa”), among others.
