Israel Travel Warnings: UK, France, Germany, Poland & Italy Advise Citizens Amid Iran Tensions

by Emma Walker – News Editor

Poland’s foreign ministry issued an urgent directive Saturday calling on all citizens to immediately depart Israel, Iran, and Lebanon, citing escalating regional tensions. The move follows similar advisories from France, the United Kingdom, and Germany, signaling a growing international concern over potential conflict in the Middle East.

The Polish ministry’s statement, reported by the Times of Israel and TVP World, did not specify a direct, imminent threat but emphasized the volatile security situation. French authorities have similarly advised against all travel to Israel, Jerusalem, and the West Bank, urging French nationals already in the region to exercise “great vigilance and prudence” and to locate nearby shelters, according to France’s Foreign Ministry.

The United Kingdom has taken a more measured approach, temporarily relocating some diplomatic staff and their dependents from Tel Aviv as a precautionary measure. The British embassy in Tel Aviv remains operational, but the Foreign Office warned that the security situation “could escalate quickly” and that border closures are possible with little warning. The UK also advises against all but essential travel to Israel and the Palestinian territories, and continues to recommend avoiding certain areas.

These advisories come as the United States has increased its military presence in the region, with satellite imagery showing a surge in US aircraft at Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia. The build-up of US forces suggests Washington is preparing for potential military action, though the specific targets or objectives remain undisclosed.

While the recent warnings acknowledge a decrease in the frequency of missile and drone attacks on Israel, the risk of further escalation remains, according to Ynetnews. The advisories do not detail specific intelligence prompting the evacuations and warnings, but reflect a shared assessment of heightened risk among key European nations and the United States.

No immediate comment was available from German officials regarding specific evacuation plans, but Germany is among the nations warning its citizens against travel to the region. Italy has also urged its citizens to leave Iran and exercise heightened caution throughout the region, according to Anadolu Ajansı.
