President Donald Trump asserted that the U.S. Economy is performing at an unprecedented level during his State of the Union address delivered Tuesday evening, February 24, 2026.

Addressing a joint session of Congress, President Trump stated, “Our nation is back: Bigger, better, richer and stronger than ever before,” according to a transcript released by CBS News. He further claimed the economy is “roaring like never before,” contrasting the current economic climate with what he described as a crisis inherited upon taking office.

The President highlighted what he characterized as a significant turnaround in key economic indicators, citing plummeting inflation and rapidly rising incomes. He also asserted that the U.S. Border is now “secure” and that the military and police forces are “stacked,” suggesting improved national security and law enforcement capabilities. According to the transcript provided by TIME, President Trump stated, “Today our border is secure, our spirit is restored, inflation is plummeting, incomes are rising speedy, the roaring economy is roaring like never before.”

The address, marking the first State of the Union of his second term, also commemorated the approaching 250th anniversary of American independence, scheduled for July 4th. President Trump framed this milestone as a celebration of “two and a half centuries of liberty and triumph, progress and freedom.”

The President’s remarks come after a year in office where he claimed to have reversed a period of economic stagnation, record inflation, and challenges in border security and recruitment for essential services. He stated that in the past nine months, “zero illegal aliens have been admitted to the United States,” according to the CBS News transcript.

Vice President Vance and Speaker Johnson were present for the address, as was the First Lady of the United States. The White House released a video of the full address on February 25, 2026.
