President Donald Trump is scheduled to deliver his State of the Union address tonight, February 24, 2026, before a joint session of Congress. The speech, to be carried by ABC, CBS, Fox, PBS, and NBC, as well as all major news networks, is expected to address tariffs, funding for the Department of Homeland Security, and ongoing international tensions.
The address comes amid heightened scrutiny of media coverage surrounding the 2020 presidential election. Dominion Voting Systems’ defamation lawsuit against Fox News Network and its parent company, Fox Corporation, concluded with a ruling in March 2023 by Delaware Superior Court Judge Eric M. Davis that statements made by the network regarding Dominion’s voting machines were demonstrably false. The case, filed in March 2021, sought $1.6 billion in damages, alleging that Fox News broadcast false claims that Dominion’s machines were rigged to steal the election from Trump.
During pre-trial discovery, internal communications from Fox News were released, revealing that hosts and executives were aware of the falsity of the claims but continued to disseminate them, reportedly to maintain viewership and revenue. The lawsuit focused on statements made by hosts Maria Bartiromo, Tucker Carlson, Lou Dobbs, Sean Hannity, and Jeanine Pirro, often featuring guests Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell, who have also faced separate legal action from Dominion.
Elsewhere on television tonight, ABC will air a new episode of “Will Trent” at 8:00 PM ET, focusing on a case involving a victim drained of blood and a suspect with connections to the protagonist’s past. The network will also broadcast the State of the Union address. Fox will present both the President’s speech and a new episode of “Best Medicine” at 8:00 PM ET, centering on a murder investigation in a modest town. PBS will feature “Finding Your Roots,” revealing the ancestry of director Spike Lee and actress Kristin Chenoweth, alongside the President’s address.
Streaming services also offer a range of new content. Netflix will release Taylor Tomlinson’s new stand-up special, “Prodigal Daughter,” at 3:00 AM ET. Prime Video will conclude the first season of “Good Sports” with Kevin Hart and Kenan Thompson offering sports analysis.
