Kim Scott, the former wife of rapper Eminem, has been charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and failing to stop or provide information after property damage following a vehicle incident in Michigan on Monday evening, according to court records.
The charges, both misdemeanors under Michigan law, stem from an incident that unfolded around 8 p.m. When Scott allegedly left her home with her son, Parker, and several of his friends. Authorities allege her vehicle initially struck a parked car before continuing to her residence, where it then collided with a garage door, according to reports from TMZ and AOL.com. Neighbors subsequently contacted the police.
Scott was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries sustained in the incident. The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the matter, but has not released further details.
Michael Smith, Scott’s attorney, stated that Eminem has been supportive of his family during this challenging time, describing Scott as “a good person, a beautiful human being,” according to HOT 97.
Scott and Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, have a complex history. They were married twice, first from 1999 to 2001, and again briefly in 2006 before divorcing for a second and final time in 2007. They share a daughter, Hailie Jade Mathers, who gained public recognition through references in Eminem’s early music, including songs like “Kim” and “‘97 Bonnie & Clyde.”
In recent years, public attention surrounding the family has shifted towards positive milestones. Last year, Hailie Jade and her husband, Evan McClintock, welcomed their first child. Prior to the birth, Hailie Jade discussed her anticipation of motherhood on her podcast, expressing both excitement and uncertainty about the experience.
