Prime Video’s ‘The House of the Spirits’ to Premiere April 29 Worldwide

BERLIN – February 16, 2026 – Prime Video announced today that the highly anticipated television adaptation of Isabel Allende’s novel, The House of the Spirits, will premiere globally on April 29, reaching over 240 countries and territories. The announcement was made at the 76th Berlinale Film Festival in Berlin, where the series will debut before its streaming release.

Based on Allende’s internationally acclaimed novel, the eight-episode saga spans half a century, focusing on three generations of women – Clara, Blanca, and Alba – within a conservative South American nation grappling with class struggle, political upheaval, and elements of magical realism.

The series stars Alfonso Herrera (known for his role in Rebel Moon) as Esteban Trueba. Nicole Wallace (Our Fault) and Dolores Fonzi (Belén) will both portray Clara del Valle at different stages of her life. Additional cast members include Fernanda Castillo (The Lord of the Skies) as Férula, Aline Kuppenheim (A Fantastic Woman) as Nivea del Valle, Eduard Fernández (The Skin I Live In) as Severo del Valle, Sara Becker (The Movie Teller) and Fernanda Urrejola (Cry Macho) as Blanca, Rochi Hernández (30 Nights with my Ex) as Alba, Juan Pablo Raba (News of a Kidnapping) as Tío Marcos, and Pablo Macaya (In Her Place) and Nicolás Contreras (Baby Bandito) as Pedro Tercero.

The production team includes Isabel Allende, Eva Longoria, and Courtney Saladino as executive producers, alongside showrunners Francisca Alegría, Fernanda Urrejola, and Andrés Wood. FilmNation Entertainment, the company behind Academy Award-winning films Anora and Conclave, is producing the series, with support from Fabula, the Chilean production company responsible for The Eternal Memory and A Fantastic Woman.

According to FilmNation Entertainment, The House of the Spirits marks the first Spanish-language television adaptation of Allende’s novel. A pre-opening talk at the European Film Market, held Sunday, February 15th, featured the creative team and executives from FilmNation and Amazon Studios discussing the adaptation process and the challenges of bringing Allende’s work to the screen. The panel explored the artistic and cultural decisions made in translating the novel’s magical realism into a contemporary drama series.

Chile’s presence at the 2026 Berlin International Film Festival extends beyond The House of the Spirits, with the series Raza Brava and Hidden Island also featured in the Berlinale Series Market Selects. This makes Chile one of the countries with the largest drama series representation at this year’s festival, following Spain.
