Meta Launches Centralized Support Hub, ⁢Tests AI Assistant for Facebook and Instagram

Meta ‌is consolidating support resources for Facebook and Instagram into a new “Security and Privacy ⁢Hub,” aiming to simplify how users manage thier account security and privacy settings. the company is also testing an AI-powered assistant to provide support and guidance⁢ within the hub.

The new hub, rolling out ‌now, centralizes tools for account recovery, password⁢ management, two-factor authentication, and privacy settings. Account recovery ⁣now includes the option to submit an‌ optional selfie video for identity verification. This move comes as Meta frequently shifts the⁤ location of key ‌settings -⁢ including ⁢account settings, data management tools, and privacy features – over the years, frequently enough leading to user confusion despite the stated goal of improved accessibility.

Meta claims‍ the hub will streamline the user experience, but the constant relocation of settings has historically frustrated users who struggle to remember where to find features within the apps. The company previously moved account settings ⁢in 2020, consolidated data management tools in 2023, and centralized privacy features in both 2022 and ⁣2023, and also making changes to ad controls in 2023.

The Security ‌and Privacy Hub is available now. Meta is also testing⁤ an AI assistant to help users⁤ navigate the hub and address common ‍support questions.
