hyundai Motor Group Spotlights Korean Hydrogen Industry at Global CEO Summit
Seoul, south Korea – Hyundai Motor Group is hosting the Hydrogen Council CEO Summit in Seoul this week, placing south Korea at the center of international discussions on hydrogen energy and showcasing the nation’s advancements in the field. The summit, which began Tuesday and runs through thursday, marks the first time the event has been held in Korea.
Approximately 200 leaders – including CEOs and executives from 100 member companies alongside government representatives from Korea, France, Germany, and other major nations – are participating in the summit. The event aims to promote the competitiveness of Korea’s hydrogen industry on a global scale and foster collaboration toward a hydrogen-powered future.
The Hydrogen Council, launched in 2017 at the World Economic Forum in Davos, is a unique global initiative-the world’s only hydrogen-focused consultative body steered by global CEOs.It brings together companies spanning automotive, energy, and chemical sectors to accelerate the deployment of hydrogen solutions.
Hyundai Motor Group Vice Chairman Chang Jae-hoon is overseeing the summit in his role as a representative of a co-chair company. “As a co-chair of the Hydrogen Council, I am pleased to be able to introduce the strengths and progress of Korea’s hydrogen industry to leaders from around the world,” Chang stated.
To support the event, Hyundai Motor Group is providing an official fleet of 56 hydrogen-powered vehicles, including 50 NEXO fuel cell SUVs and six Universe hydrogen-electric buses, demonstrating the company’s commitment to hydrogen mobility.
