POCO Pad M1 Launches with Massive Battery, Recycled Software
Berlin – POCO has unveiled the Pad M1, a new 12-inch Android tablet boasting a substantial 12,000 mAh battery and reverse charging capabilities. The device, however, arrives with software that appears to be based on older hardware, drawing criticism for launching with HyperOS 2 based on Android 15 when HyperOS 3 and Android 16 are available.
The POCO pad M1 aims to deliver extended usage with its large battery, also functioning as a 27-watt power bank for other gadgets. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4. Data transfer speeds are limited by a USB 2.0 USB-C port.
The tablet’s software decision stems from its foundation in recycled hardware, specifically adopting the base of the Redmi Pad 2 Pro. POCO’s first Pad was also a rebranded Redmi Pad Pro. The device is not yet officially available in Germany but is expected to appear on platforms like aliexpress.
Pricing will be a key factor in the Pad M1’s success, as the virtually identical Redmi Pad 2 Pro is already available in local stores. A purchase decision hinges on preference for the POCO branding or a considerably lower price point.
