Maricarmen Vela, a Spanish-born actress who found fame and a decades-long career in Mexico, has died. She was 86.Vela was widely recognized for her role as ‘gloria’ in the iconic television series El Chavo del 8, and appeared in numerous films and telenovelas throughout her career.
Born in Valencia, spain, on November 9, 1937, Vela became a naturalized Mexican citizen in 1964. Her talent led her to work in television commercials, films, and soap operas, beginning with a debut in the film I Saw It on TV. She shared the screen with some of Mexico’s most celebrated actors, including Pedro Infante, Tin Tan, Cantinflas, Rosita Quintana, Silvia Pinal, and Arturo de Córdova.
vela’s extensive filmography includes notable roles in Quinceañera, Single Dad, Clarissa, simply Maria, Woman, Real life Cases, Ties of Love, Abyss of Passion, and My Heart Is Yours.
