Dubai Duty Free Reports Record October Sales, Eyes Strong 2025 Finish
Dubai, UAE – Dubai Duty Free announced a landmark October, achieving sales of AED 805.6 million (USD $220.7 million) – a notable increase of 16.1% compared to October 2023’s AED 692 million. This performance marks October as the eighth month in 2025 to break previous sales records, and ranks as the third highest monthly sales figure in the company’s history, trailing only December 2024’s record of AED 821.4 million (USD $225 million).
Year-to-date sales now total AED 6.88 billion (USD $1.885 billion), representing an 8.72% increase – or AED 552 million (USD $151 million) – over the same period last year.
Perfumes continue to lead sales, generating AED 139.9 million in October. Gold jewelry followed closely with AED 97.2 million, boosted by the Diwali festival and sustained demand for luxury goods. Confectionery and sweets also experienced a record month, reaching AED 78 million, driven by the popularity of the “Dubai Chocolate” line which alone achieved AED 34 million in sales – equivalent to 71 tons of chocolate across nine brands and 428,000 pieces sold.
Luxury fashion saw a notably strong surge, with sales increasing by 43.5% compared to October of the previous year.
Across all Dubai Duty Free locations, terminals demonstrated robust growth: Terminal A increased by 27.4%, terminal B by 21.5%, Terminal C by 21.9%, Terminal D by 11.2%, and Terminal 2 by 13.1%. Arrivals gates also performed well,growing by 18.3% despite competitive pressures.
Geographically, sales to passengers travelling to Africa, the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, the Far East, and Pacific countries all rose by over 20%. Specifically, Russia saw a 14.2% increase,Africa experienced an 18.5% jump, and the Indian subcontinent recorded a growth rate of 6.62%.
With its 42nd anniversary approaching on December 20th, Dubai Duty Free anticipates another triumphant year in 2025, building on this impressive momentum.
