Shin Tae-yong: Next Thai National Team Coach?

Bangkok -⁤ Shin Tae-yong is among the candidates being ​considered to become ⁢the next ⁣head​ coach‍ of the Thai ​national team, following the dismissal⁢ of Masatada ⁢Ishii.The Football Association‌ of Thailand (FAT) terminated IshiiS contract on Tuesday,October 21,after he had served ⁣as coach since 2023.

The search⁢ for​ a⁤ new leader for the War Elephant Team comes at a crucial juncture for Thai football, as‍ the nation aims to strengthen‍ its position in Southeast Asian⁤ competition and beyond. Shin⁢ Tae-yong, who coached the Indonesian national team from 2020-2025, ​presents a compelling⁢ option due to his familiarity with the​ region’s football landscape and broader Asian play. Currently,Anthony Hudson is serving as interim coach,having⁢ previously held the role of ⁢Technical Director.

Alongside Shin⁤ Tae-yong,other potential ⁤candidates include former Vietnam national team coach ‌Park Hang-seo and Bangkok United’s Totchawan Sripan. ⁣Shin Tae-yong’s recent⁤ stint with⁢ Ulsan HD lasted approximately four months.

Despite remaining open​ to continuing with the Indonesian National team, Shin Tae-yong’s future remains uncertain as ​the FAT ​evaluates⁤ its options.
