‘Big Brother’ Alum Lucas Crespo Lands Lead Role in New Channel 13 Series
SANTIAGO, CHILE – Lucas Crespo, known to audiences for his appearance on the reality show ‘Big Brother’, is expanding his career into acting, securing the starring role in Channel 13’s upcoming vertical television series, “The worker who made me fall in love.” The 26-year-old influencer and Jiu Jitsu instructor will play Angel Manriquez, a construction worker who ignites a passionate connection with the series’ lead, Amanda, portrayed by Carola Varleta.
The series, a successor to “My wedding is a trap”, centers on a burgeoning romance described by the network as a whirlwind of “passions, secrets and lies.” Crespo’s casting follows a traditional audition process, though acting isn’t unfamiliar territory. “My mother has always wanted to be an actress and that is why as I was a child she got me into the world of cinema and theater, she instilled it in me from a very young age… And I have always been interested in the ability of actors and actresses to be able to get into a character,” Crespo explained.
Channel 13 describes Manriquez as a man “strong, tough, passionate, the type of man who awakens your most forbidden desire.” Crespo expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity, stating, “It is indeed a very great opportunity that was presented to me, and I come from a place of humility, of learning, with a closed mouth and wide open ears, and willing to soak up the knowledge of my colleagues.” He also acknowledged the unique aspect of portraying a romantic ideal, adding, “It increases your self-esteem when they put you in the role of ‘you have to be the fantasy of whoever sees this’… and it is indeed a big responsibility too, even though it is cool and I love the idea.”
“The worker who made me fall in love” will premiere on Channel 13’s social media platforms and also stars Carola Varleta, Hernán Contreras, Valentina Acuña, and Paulina urrutia.
