Table of Contents
The Italian revenue Agency has launched a new series, “Radio Tax – Fiscal Guides,” to simplify complex tax information. The first episode focuses on the 2025 furniture bonus, outlining eligibility and claiming procedures in a clear and accessible format - available via video podcast on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/shorts/T4Z4cXf6YEY) and across the agency’s social media channels.
What Qualifies for the Deduction?
A 50% tax deduction is available on purchases of furniture and large appliances made by December 31, 2025, up to a maximum expenditure of €5,000 (including transport and installation costs). Though, these purchases must be linked to qualifying home renovation work.
Qualifying renovations include:
* Extraordinary interventions on individual apartments – such as demolishing or constructing internal walls, or replacing a boiler with a more energy-efficient model.
What doesn’t qualify?
* Ordinary maintenance, like painting, unless it’s performed on the common areas of a condominium. In that case, furniture purchases for those common areas are eligible.
Appliance Energy Efficiency Requirements:
* Ovens: Energy class A or higher
* Washing Machines, Washer-Dryers, Dishwashers: Energy class E or higher
* Refrigerators and Freezers: Energy class F or higher
How to Calculate & Claim Your Deduction
The deduction is calculated on the current year’s expenses, up to the €5,000 limit. This amount is then divided into ten equal annual installments.
Important Payment Requirements:
* Acceptable Payment Methods: Bank transfer, credit card, or debit card.
* Unacceptable Payment Methods: Checks, cash,or any other form of payment.
