Apple Discontinues Clips Video Editing App

Apple has quietly removed the Clips video editing app‌ from the App Store, signaling⁣ the end of development for the once-promising tool.A new Apple support document confirms that Clips will no longer receive ⁢updates adn is unavailable for download by⁢ new users.

Existing users will retain access ‍to the app ‍and can ​redownload it through thier Apple account, but the app is effectively end-of-life for ‍anyone without prior installation.

The support document details instructions for current users to export their Clips‍ projects and individual videos to their photo library or other​ storage locations.

Launched in 2017, Clips⁢ initially garnered attention for its user-friendly interface⁣ and⁢ features like support for Memoji, Animoji, and LiDAR-enabled augmented reality effects. Though, updates became increasingly infrequent in‍ recent years, focusing primarily on bug⁣ fixes. ⁢This latest proclamation confirms‌ Apple ⁣is sunsetting ⁢the app.
