The win marks a historic moment as van Gisbergen becomes only the seventh driver in NASCAR Cup Series history to win in their series debut.
The Charlotte Roval race, a 400-mile event held on the 2.286-mile road course, saw van gisbergen battle closely with Kyle Larson, who finished second, and Christopher Bell, who rounded out the podium in third.
