Kuwait Strengthens International Aviation Ties at ICAO Assembly in Montreal
MONTREAL – kuwait’s Director General of Civil Aviation, Sheikh Mohammed hammoud Mubarak Al-Sabah, engaged in a series of bilateral meetings with representatives from Germany, the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland, Russia, and Morocco on the sidelines of the 42nd session of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) General Assembly, held in Montreal, Canada. the meetings, which took place on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, focused on strengthening aviation cooperation and reviewing key agenda items before the assembly.
These discussions underscore Kuwait’s commitment to bolstering international partnerships and enhancing technical and operational collaboration within the global civil aviation system. The meetings covered a range of topics including air transport, safety, security, operational procedures, and ongoing joint projects. Sheikh Al-Sabah emphasized Kuwait’s dedication to supporting ICAO initiatives and advancing cooperation with member states.
Kuwait’s active participation in the ICAO assembly follows recent recognition from the organization for its advancements in civil aviation security. On Tuesday, September 23, 2025, ICAO honored Kuwait for establishing an effective system to monitor aviation security and improve the effective implementation of ICAO rules and international standards.
The Kuwaiti Civil Aviation Authority stated that the discussions also included a general review of the progress of cooperation between Kuwait and these nations in the field of aviation. Sheikh Al-Sabah affirmed that these meetings reflect Kuwait’s positive role in the vital aviation sector and contribute to the overall support of the global civil aviation system.
