Mother Arrested After Unsanitary Living Conditions Discovered in Kentucky Apartment
Oak Grove, KY – Jessica Reeve, 36, of Oak Grove, Kentucky, was arrested on September 18th and is currently held at the Christian County Detention Center on a $15,000 bond, facing three counts of frist-degree wanton endangerment. The arrest stems from concerns raised about the living conditions within her apartment and the well-being of her three sons, ages 6 and 10 (two sons are 10 years old).
The inquiry began with a complaint submitted too the Kentucky Department of Community-Based Services, which alerted authorities to potentially hazardous conditions in the Meadow Lane apartment.A welfare agency worker afterward contacted the Oak Grove Police Department, leading to a visit by officers.
Upon entering the apartment, officers were met with a strong odor of feces and found the residence heavily cluttered with clothes, trash, and debris, hindering their movement. The source of the odor was quickly identified: feces smeared on the walls and a bed. Reeve reportedly told officers her sons had a habit of smearing feces on surfaces.
According to the criminal complaint, the apartment lacked any clean areas for the children to play, sit, or sleep. Reeve identified herself and her three sons as the apartment’s sole occupants.
This is not the first time Reeve has faced similar allegations. Previously, she was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment related to incidents involving her children, including leaving one son home in unsafe conditions and allowing another son with autism to wander onto a busy roadway.
Authorities continue to investigate the situation to ensure the safety and welfare of the children involved.
