Macron Phones trump After Motorcade Delays French President in new York City

NEW YORK French president Emmanuel Macron was briefly delayed en route to a United Nations summit in New York City on Tuesday after what appeared to be a security protocol involving the US presidential motorcade blocked his vehicle. Macron was ultimately allowed to proceed on foot, walking approximately 30 minutes accompanied by his security detail.

According to reports, Macron, initially stuck behind a metal barrier, used his phone to call US President Donald Trump, reportedly saying laughingly: “How are you? Guess what? I’m waiting in the street because everything is frozen for you.”

The incident occurred as Macron arrived for a special UN summit where he delivered a speech calling for an end to the war in Gaza, stating, “The time has come to end the war in Gaza, the massacres and the death. The time has come to do justice for the Palestinian people and thus to recognize the state of Palestine in Gaza, the West Bank and Jerusalem.”

Following his walk, Macron engaged wiht pedestrians, posing for photographs and even receiving a kiss on the forehead from one passerby.

Macron also announced France’s official recognition of a Palestinian state and proposed a UN-mandated international stabilisation force for postwar Gaza – a plan expected to garner support from many nations but likely face opposition from both Israel and the United States.
