Monroe County Restaurants See Mostly Clean Inspections, But Several Cited for Sanitation Issues
Recent inspections by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture and the East stroudsburg borough revealed a mix of perfect scores and minor violations at Monroe County restaurants between September 8 and September 14.
Several establishments received zero violations, including Triplets Family Restaurant (1947 W. Main st., stroudsburg), Cookie Plug (1000 Premium Outlets Drive, Tannersville), Great Bear Golf Club (1 Great Bear Court, East Stroudsburg), Snydersville Family Diner (6238 Route 209, Stroudsburg), Sidelines (114 Columbia Drive, East Stroudsburg), Klingel’s Farm (415 Route 115, Saylorsburg), and CVS (958 Route 390, Cresco).
Though,inspections also uncovered issues at other locations. An inspector noted old food residue on the blade of a manual can opener, dusty fan guards in a refrigerator, and a sanitizer rinse cycle with 0 ppm chlorine residual-below the required 50-100 ppm-at an unnamed establishment.That same inspection also found old food debris in enclosed and magnetic knife holders.
Follow-up inspections were conducted at Snydersville Family Diner,previously cited for four violations on September 3,and Pocono Brewery Company,which had six violations on September 4. Both had achieved compliance as of their follow-up inspections. Pioneer Diner (3397 Route 940, Mount Pocono) also passed a follow-up inspection after addressing three violations from September 4.
New establishments inspected included Canteen at NFI Tobyhanna (2077 Corporate Centre Drive West, tobyhanna), Nonna’s gourmet Catering (1289 Route 209, Gilbert), and Stoltzfus Produce (mobile food facility), all of which were opening inspections.
Other inspections were carried out at Soho Mart/Sunoco (350 prospect St., East Stroudsburg), Dunkin’ (350 Prospect St., East Stroudsburg), and Mountainhome Diner (910 Route 390, cresco).
