Woman Disarms Police Officer During Pursuit in Petare,Caracas
caracas,Venezuela – A woman disarmed a Municipal Police of Sucre (polisucre) officer during a pursuit following a reported theft in Caracas’ petare district,authorities confirmed. The incident, captured in a video circulating on social media, occured at the Petare Metro station, near the Super Petare Center.
The confrontation unfolded as Polisucre officers pursued two women suspected of stealing merchandise from a Terrazas Del Ávila establishment. During the chase, a struggle ensued, adn a woman dressed in black allegedly wrested a firearm from a female Polisucre officer.The woman then pointed the weapon at the officer before security forces regained control of the situation, recovered the firearm, and arrested both suspects.
Authorities have indicated the woman who disarmed the officer is currently wanted on outstanding warrants. The incident caused a brief period of alarm among commuters in the area. The case highlights ongoing challenges faced by law enforcement in the densely populated Petare district and raises questions about police procedure during pursuits.
