‘Star Wars: Starfighter’ sets Sail? New Photos hint at Oceanic Planet
New behind-the-scenes photos from the set of Star Wars: Starfighter reveal Ryan Gosling and newcomer Flynn Gray filming in a nautical environment, sparking fan speculation about a potential sea planet location. Director Shawn Levy captioned a recent image, “Somewhere in the Mediterranean,” suggesting a departure from typical Star Wars landscapes.
The unexpected setting has led fans to theorize a connection to Castilon, a planet featured in the animated series star Wars Resistance, which takes place during the sequel trilogy era. Many have also noted stylistic parallels between Gosling and Gray’s costumes and the iconic look of Han Solo.
Star Wars: Starfighter is currently slated for release on May 26, 2027, and also stars Amy Adams, Matt Smith, Mia Goth, and Aaron Pierre. The film’s script is penned by Jonathan Tropper, who previously collaborated with Levy on The adam Project.Lucasfilm has not yet released an official synopsis.
