Los Angeles, CA – Authorities have identified the body discovered in the trunk of a Tesla registered to musician David Anthony Burke, known as D4VD, as a teenage girl between the ages of 14 and 15. The discovery,made on September 8th in Hollywood,has prompted an ongoing investigation.
The body was found packed in a bag after police responded to reports of a strong, unpleasant odor emanating from the vehicle. According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office, the remains were severely decomposed, indicating the body had been in the car for an extended period.
Law enforcement has confirmed the deceased’s identity but is withholding further details pending official notification of next of kin.”The deceased has been identified, but the official notification of relatives is still ongoing. Information can only be disclosed after the notification,” police stated to Rolling Stone.
Sources cited by NME report the Tesla was reportedly seen in the area as early as May. The cause of death has not been released.
D4VD, 20, rose to prominence with viral hits ”Here With me” and “Romantic Homicide,” accumulating 1.5 billion streams on Spotify. He recently launched a tour supporting his debut album, Withered, and is scheduled to perform in Los Angeles on September 20th. A spokesperson for D4VD stated the singer intends to continue the tour while fully cooperating with the investigation.
Police have identified multiple locations where the Tesla was parked in recent weeks, including Bluebird Avenue for a period of three weeks, and other spots a few blocks away prior to May, according to Rolling Stone.
