Rising artist d4vd has canceled an upcoming concert in Seattle as authorities continue to investigate the death of a 15-year-old girl. the 20-year-old musician had continued performing after the inquiry began earlier this month.
On September 9, d4vd performed onstage as questions mounted regarding the case. Authorities later confirmed that remains found in his Tesla belonged to Celeste Rivas, who had been reported missing as april. Rivas was 5’1″ adn weighed 71 pounds. The discovery has focused attention on the singer, potentially impacting his burgeoning career.
A detail fueling public discussion is a matching “Shhh…” finger tattoo shared by both d4vd and Rivas. Images of d4vd displaying the tattoo have circulated online since last year. Prior to her disappearance,Rivas reportedly mentioned a boyfriend named David, though investigators have not confirmed any connection.
As of September 11, officials have not named d4vd a suspect, and no charges have been filed. A representative for the artist stated, “d4vd has been informed about what’s happened. And, although he is still officially out on tour, he is fully cooperating with the authorities.”
The tattoo similarity, while noted, is not unique-celebrities including rihanna and Lindsay Lohan also have the same design. Social media users have also circulated unverified screenshots allegedly showing online interactions between Rivas and the artist.
d4vd’s next scheduled concert is Friday, September 19, in San Francisco. Whether he will perform remains uncertain and will likely depend on the progress of the investigation.
