Israel Intensifies Gaza City Strikes, Hospital Reports Dozens Dead
Gaza City – Israel ramped up airstrikes on Gaza City overnight, with teh Al-Ahli Arab Hospital reporting at least 32 Palestinians were killed, according to hospital officials. The strikes targeted areas near the hospital and other civilian infrastructure, intensifying a conflict sparked by Hamas‘s October 7th attack on Israel.
The escalation comes as Israel continues it’s military response to the Hamas incursion, which resulted in over 1,400 Israeli deaths and the taking of over 200 hostages.Palestinian authorities report over 6,600 deaths in Gaza since the conflict began, a figure that includes those killed in the latest strikes.
The strikes are focused on dismantling Hamas infrastructure and capabilities within Gaza. israel has maintained that it takes steps to avoid civilian casualties, but the high death toll and damage to civilian areas have drawn international concern.
The conflict has also led to a severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza, with limited access to food, water, and medical supplies. International organizations are calling for a ceasefire and increased humanitarian aid to the region.
