TNI adn Ferry Irwandi Reach reconciliation Following Recent Disputes
Jakarta - A recent telephone conversation led to an apology and mutual forgiveness between Indonesian national Armed Forces (TNI) Head Brigadier General (Mar) Freddy Ardianzah and Ferry Irwandi, resolving a period of public disagreement. The reconciliation signals a potential de-escalation following scrutiny of the TNI’s actions during recent demonstrations.
Irwandi detailed the conversation on his social media account Saturday, stating that a dialog clarified several misunderstandings. “There was a dialogue between me and him, which basically there are many misunderstandings between this situation,” irwandi said. Both parties extended apologies; Ardianzah for the difficulties Irwandi faced, and Irwandi for concerns regarding the situation within the TNI.
The move towards peace comes after four high-ranking TNI officers – Dansatsiber TNI Brigadier General Juinta Omboh Sembiring, Danpuspom Maj. Gen. Yusri Nuryanto, TNI Head Brigadier General Freddy Ardianzah, and Kababinkum TNI Laksda Farid Ma’ruf – visited the Directorate of Metro Jaya Police Siber Inquiry on Monday (September 8, 2025) for legal consultation.
despite the reconciliation, Irwandi emphasized the continued importance of focusing on the demands of the public and advocating for those arrested or missing during recent demonstrations. “Let’s focus on the demands, our friends who are still arrested and our friends who do not yet know where their fate is. Take care of each other!” he stated.
Irwandi also expressed his continued faith in the dedication of TNI soldiers to Indonesia and its citizens. following the agreement, all further legal proceedings related to the dispute have been halted.
