Monaco to Offer Free Bus Service During Major Events, Easing Congestion & Enhancing Visitor Experience
MONACO – In a move designed to streamline transportation during peak event periods, the Princely Government will provide complimentary access to the Monaco bus network (CAM) for all users attending major events in the Principality. The initiative, born from discussions with the National Council, aims to alleviate traffic congestion and improve the overall experience for residents and visitors alike.
This policy addresses a recurring challenge: the notable influx of people during events like the Monaco Yacht Show, Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters, Formula 1 Grand Prix, and others, which often strains the Principality’s roadways.By removing the cost barrier to public transportation, the government hopes to encourage wider adoption of the CAM network, a system already recognized for its density and efficiency, particularly when reinforced to handle increased demand. The move underscores Monaco’s commitment to enduring mobility and enhancing quality of life.
The free bus service will first be implemented during the Monaco yacht Show 2025, running from September 19th to October 1st, encompassing the event itself and also setup and dismantling phases. It will then be extended to cover Luxe pack Monaco and later rolled out for other large-scale events including the rolex Monte-Carlo Masters, the Monaco Grand Prix, the Monaco E-Prix, and the Vuelta.
The government emphasizes that the CAM will announce specific dates and logistical details for each event as they approach. This initiative reflects a broader governmental strategy to prioritize accessible and simplified collective transportation options, ensuring a smoother experience for all during Monaco’s internationally renowned gatherings.
