Lucy Olsen Launches “Basketball is Fun” Merchandise Website following Rookie WNBA Season
WASHINGTON D.C.- Former University of Iowa women’s basketball star Lucy Olsen announced the launch of her personal website, basketballisfun.co, on Tuesday, marking her next step beyond her rookie season with the Washington Mystics. The site currently features hoodies, t-shirts, and sweatpants emblazoned with the “Basketball is Fun” wordmark.
Olsen, who completed her first professional season after a successful collegiate career with the Hawkeyes, explained the website launch as part of her ongoing “Basketball is Fun” journey, promising more merchandise to come. Throughout the 2024-25 WNBA season,Olsen carved out playing time off the bench for the Mystics,highlighted by a season-high 19-point performance against the Minnesota Lynx on July 3.
She finished her rookie campaign averaging 4.0 points on 41.5% shooting from the field, 27.1% from three-point range, and 82.4% from the free throw line. Olsen also contributed 1.2 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 0.4 steals, and 0.1 blocks in an average of 12:24 minutes across 41 games played.
Following the WNBA season, Olsen will continue her basketball career by competing for the Townsville fire in the Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) in Australia.
