Phoenix Zoo’s ‘Comic Conservation’ Event with Todd McFarlane

PHOENIX – A rare, hand-signed lithograph by comic book legend Todd McFarlane‍ is being raffled off by the Phoenix⁢ Zoo ⁣to support its conservation efforts. The ​lithograph,​ one of only ⁣500 copies produced and included⁤ in the “Spawn Special Limited ‍edition Hardcover,” ‌offers a unique opportunity for collectors and⁤ fans.

Raffle tickets cost $10, with all proceeds directly benefiting the ⁤zoo’s mission “to ‍inspire and care for the natural world through education, conservation and engagement.” The‌ raffle⁤ is ‍part of⁢ the ​zoo’s⁤ “comic Conservation” exhibit, which runs‍ through Jan. 25, 2026, and aims to engage the public with conservation messaging⁢ through the popular art form of comics.

“Comics are a powerful and widely loved art⁣ form,” said⁤ Phoenix Zoo President and CEO Bert Castro‍ in a press release.”Their​ visual ‍storytelling ⁣and pop culture appeal⁢ make them an ⁤engaging and effective ​way to bring conservation messaging to the masses in a fun, approachable way.”

In addition to the⁣ raffle, the zoo will host a ‍special event on Saturday, Oct. 4, from ⁣9 a.m. to 1 p.m., ‌featuring many of the‍ exhibit’s artists for meet-and-greets, live drawings, ​and sales.Photo opportunities, face ⁣painting, and ⁤cosplayers will also be‌ present.This ​event ⁣is included​ with general zoo admission.

Zoo admission ‌is $39.95 for ages ⁤14 and up, $29.95 for ages 3-13,⁢ and free‌ for ages 2 and younger. Raffle tickets and further ⁣details ‌are available at phoenixzoo.org or by calling 602-286-3800.
