Gaza City – Israeli forces bombed a second skyscraper in Gaza City today, following warnings to residents to evacuate, as air attacks across the Gaza Strip intensified, resulting in at least 35 Palestinian deaths, according to reports from Al Jazeera citing medical sources.Among the casualties, 25 deaths were reported in Gaza City, and a Palestinian child was killed, with others injured, in a raid on a vehicle in Khan Yunis. Yesterday, over 50 Palestinians were killed in Gaza, including at least seven children, during attacks in Gaza City. Specifically,five people,including a child,died in attacks on homes in the Shati refugee camp,and another five were killed in a residential building in the Sul area of the same camp.
The Israeli army (IDF) issued an urgent evacuation notice for residents near the “Torre al-R’I” and adjacent tents at the intersection of Beirut Street and Arab league Street, stating the structures housed Hamas terrorist infrastructure. Colonel Avihai Adraee, an IDF spokesman for the Arabic language, urged residents to evacuate instantly south towards the humanitarian area of Al-Mawasi, khan Yunis.
The IDF has broadly urged the population of Gaza City to evacuate to a designated “humanitarian area” along the coast of al-Mawasi. “Starting now, and to facilitate the departure of the residents of the city, we declare the area (coast) of Al-Mawasi…a humanitarian area,” stated an IDF message.
The UN estimates approximately one million people reside in the Gaza City area and has warned of an imminent “disaster” due to the impending military offensive. Amnesty International, as reported by Al Jazeera, warned that the escalation of Israeli attacks in Gaza City will have ”catastrophic and irreversible consequences” for Palestinians.
