Fort Lauderdale – Inter Miami has condemned the actions of forward Luis Suarez following the Leagues Cup 2025 Final, confirming the club is taking action after Suarez appeared to spit on a member of the Seattle Sounders coaching staff.The incident occurred after Inter Miami’s 0-3 defeat to Seattle on Monday, September 1, 2025.
Video footage shows a heated exchange between Suarez and Sounders Director Gene Ramirez, culminating in Suarez appearing to spit in Ramirez’s direction. players and staff intervened to separate the two men.Suarez has a history of disciplinary issues, including past suspensions for biting opponents while playing in Europe and a previous ban for racially harassing Patrice Evra. This latest incident has drawn widespread criticism and could result in meaningful sanctions from Major League Soccer, including a potential fine and suspension.
MLS is currently investigating the matter, and Inter Miami is cooperating with the league and the Leagues Cup organizers.
