Mophie has launched the Max Headphones Charging Stand, bringing wireless charging capability to Apple’s AirPods Max. The AirPods Max do not natively support wireless charging, so Mophie’s solution utilizes a USB-C dongle that permanently connects to the headphones. This dongle magnetically aligns with charging pins within the stand, delivering power and initiating a sleep mode-a feature only triggered when the AirPods Max are placed in their case.
Available now for $150 directly from Mophie’s online store, the stand includes a dongle specifically designed for the USB-C version of the AirPods Max introduced in September 2023. Mophie has no current plans to release a Lightning connector version for compatibility with earlier AirPods Max models.
The stand features a weighted base constructed from anodized aluminum, and the earcup cradle is lined with soft-touch silicone to prevent scratching. Beyond AirPods Max charging, the base incorporates a Qi-compatible wireless charging pad for AirPods earbuds or smartphones, though it does not support the newer Qi2 standard or offer magnetic alignment for faster charging. While offering a convenient option to case-based charging, the stand occupies additional desk space.
