Boston Bike Riot: Man Charged After Highway Stunts

Adam ⁣Harrison, 22,⁣ of Winthrop,​ was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after a large group ⁤of bikers disrupted ‌traffic in Boston ​over the weekend. The group,consisting of over 100 bicycles,dirt bikes,and motorized scooters,rode‍ on highways and through tunnels,performing stunts​ and ignoring ⁤traffic‍ laws.

On‍ Saturday, Massachusetts State‌ Police received‍ reports of ⁣the group ‌entering the O’Neill Tunnel on⁢ Interstate 93 south. They briefly exited at ‌Exit 17 but quickly returned⁣ to the highway. A collision occurred ‍when‌ one ⁤of the dirt ⁣bikes “brake‍ checked” a state police cruiser near ⁤D and Summer streets, causing ⁢the trooper‌ to strike the biker. Harrison was identified as one of the bicyclists who ‌had been obstructing traffic on Seaport Blvd.Witnesses described the⁣ scene as chaotic, with bikers riding without helmets and weaving ⁤through traffic. Michael Filandro said he ‌was‌ surrounded by “a whole wagon​ train​ of them,” ⁤while Marcus Lancaster described the ⁣group as ​”scary”⁤ and said they “just came ripping through on dirt bikes.”

Harrison pleaded ‌not guilty and was released on personal ⁣recognizance due⁤ to the⁣ ongoing attorney ⁣work stoppage.He is scheduled to return to court on ⁤September 30th.
