Mathews County Public Schools students and classrooms will receive support through a “Dine 2 Donate doubleheader” event. The gwynn’s Island Civic League Foundation is hosting the fundraiser, which begins today, Thursday, July 31, at Mathews Grill and Deli. The event continues Sunday,August 3,at Mi Casa azteca mexican Restaurant.
Both restaurants are located on Main Street in Mathews and will be open for dine-in and take-out from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on their respective days. The Benitez Family, owners of both establishments, offered their participation to benefit the Gwynn’s Island Civic League Foundation‘s scholarship and grant programs. A portion of each day’s sales will be donated.
Foundation members will be present at both locations to engage with customers and provide data about how the funds raised will be utilized. several local and area businesses have already contributed financial support for this initiative.
