Meizu 22 Rumors: Snapdragon 8 Elite and Screen Edge Reduction

news">Meizu 22 rumored for Summer 2025 Launch with Design Cues from Huawei and Samsung, but Battery Concerns Linger

The upcoming Meizu 22 smartphone is reportedly set too launch in Summer 2025, featuring a camera bump design reminiscent of the Huawei Mate 70 RS Ultimate Design. Internally, it is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, the same chipset anticipated for the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. This combination of design and processing power could position the Meizu 22 as a strong contender, provided it can differentiate itself from its potential competitors.

Though, the absence of Meizu’s flagship offerings, even in its domestic market of China, raises concerns, particularly for the Meizu 22. The company’s 2025 flagship lineup remains unannounced, creating a potential disadvantage for the Meizu 22 in a rapidly evolving smartphone market.

Latest rumors suggest a focus on screen aesthetics for the Meizu 22, with a reduction in screen bezels to approximately 1.2 mm on all sides. This slim bezel design is becoming a trend among high-end smartphones, often associated with devices utilizing powerful processors like the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 or the MediaTek Dimensity 9500.

To remain competitive, the Meizu 22, and potentially its sibling the Meizu 22 Pro, must accelerate its release. Competitors are expected to formalize thier next-generation devices, featuring similar advanced chipsets, as early as September or October 2025. This timeline suggests that Meizu needs to act swiftly to ensure its latest flagship can effectively compete in the market.
