IPhone 17 Air: Rumored 3000 mAh Battery & Small Size

The smartphone market is heating up with the arrival of the Galaxy S25 edge, a device positioned in the “ultra-fiery phones” category. Now, Apple is reportedly preparing to challenge this segment with the upcoming iPhone 17 Air, slated for release in the autumn. This new Apple device is expected to distinguish itself with exceptionally compact dimensions,a feature that may come at the expense of its battery capacity.

According to a report from the well-known leaker Instant Digital, shared on a Chinese social platform, the iPhone 17 Air is anticipated to feature a battery with a capacity of just 3000 mAh.

While this figure is slightly more generous than some earlier rumors suggesting a 2800 mAh battery, it remains a notably small capacity. For comparison, Samsung has managed to integrate a 3900 mAh battery into the Galaxy S25 Edge, a capacity not significantly less than the 4000 mAh battery found in the standard Galaxy S25.

It is important to note that raw battery capacity figures do not always tell the complete story. The iOS operating system is known for its efficient battery optimization, which can enable iPhones to achieve competitive real-world usage times compared to smartphones with larger battery capacities.

The iPhone 17 Air is scheduled for its official unveiling in September 2025, with availability expected in the autumn. The device is rumored to sport a 6.6-inch OLED display featuring a resolution of 1260 x 2740 pixels and a 120 Hz refresh rate, complete with the Dynamic Island interface.
